Amalgam Removal

Amalgam Removal

The decision to have your mercury amalgams removed must be based on your own research and beliefs but once your decision is made we are happy to help you through the process. A consultation with Dr Walsh is the best place to start as there is a lot to consider in the process. We use safe mercury amalgam removal techniques (‘S.M.A.R.T.’) which involve many protocols including rubber dam isolation, alternative air source via the nose, sectional amalgam removal from teeth, copious water and very high-volume suction to name a few.

We will offer help with  heavy metal chelation before, during and after the amalgam removal appointments with the input from our natural health care colleague(s). We can also look at possible sensitivities to specific filling materials which may affect the choice of restorative material to replace the amalgams with. A thorough discussion is a great first step, and Dr Walsh is happy to have a chat on the phone prior to any appointments are booked. Costs and timing vary greatly from case to case, so a consultation will be required before any definitive treatment plans can be discussed.
